Your best resource for new and expecting dads

The Green Smoothie Recipe

I’ve been experimenting with a number of different fitness and nutrition routines for years. I had a dad bod in my 20s way before having children. I had one before it was cool. It was due to a lack of discipline in my sleep routine and my nutrition. My go-to was fast food and all-nighters. I happened upon a number of different dietary experiments including smoothies, juicing, slow carb and finally the Ketogenic Diet. Some things worked for a time but like most diets, I could not commit. I lost 50bs going Keto. I’ve stayed Keto for the better part of 4 years because it works for me. I have incorporated time-restricted feeding or intermittent fasting into my regimen. The latest addition has been my green smoothie recipe inspired by my all-around inspiration, Colin Toop. Check out the Tools Podcast.

I added the Green Smoothie to my daily routine to make sure I am getting enough vegetables and fiber. It helps me to start my eating window off on the right foot. I try to time it right after a fasted workout and before eating my first meal of the day. There are a number of staples in the recipe and some ingredients that may change over time. I’ll update it accordingly.

Ingredients

  • Jocko MÖLK – Mint Chocolate is my favorite
  • Kale
  • Frozen avocado chunks
  • ½ cup Cashew milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp Matcha powder
  • 1 tbsp Spirulina powder
  • 1 tbsp ground Flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp MCT powder

My measurements are all eyeballed. I put everything in my Vitamix and serve it in a stainless-steel cup.

Feel free to share your Green Smoothie recipe and pictures with me. I’d love to see what you’re doing.
